A Totally Shopping Weekend

I totally want to brag about the great deals I got this past weekend!

Friday: I like to go to Marshalls and TJ Maxx every once in a while and go through stuff on Friday's. It's weirdly relaxing to me to just be by myself and shopping. The only person that I can REALLY go shopping with is my boyfriend, but he is working in Connecticut and I am in Pennsylvania so we can't go shopping as much anymore :( We're perfect shopping buddies, though. He's the only one that can keep up with me, like the same stores as me (J.Crew being number 1) and be quick about deciding on things. Anyway, I went to Marshalls and I was looking through the clearance section in shoes and found these classy black Nine West heels marked down from $69 for $20! Such a steal! I haven't measured, but they are at least three inches tall and they are going to get used to walking in. I love them though. I can wear them with jeans, or with a dressy outfit too.

Saturday: I had a coupon to Banana Republic for 50% off my entire purchase, so my best friend and I went to the mall to look around and I looked into buying a suit since I might be going to interviews for teaching positions in the near future (crazy run on). I must have looked like a maniac, but I had an arm full of clothes from the clearance section and suits to try on. The girl was very nice and took the things out of my almost numb arms to start a fitting room for me. I picked out chino's and sweaters, but all of the pants ended up being too big. By the way, does anyone else think that Banana has changed their sizing and runs extremely big? I tried on a 2, but the pants really fit like 4's. I really liked a classy black crewneck sweater that was marked down for like $12.
As for suits, I tried on a gray one since I can wear it year round. I instantly fell in love. I was struggling over the price tag, but then I really wanted to open a Banana card and save 20% on my purchase. After what seemed like forever and trying on two pairs of pants and a skirt, I finally decided on the skirt and jacket. The jacket was retail $198 and the skirt was $79. As I was adding more things to my "pile" up at the register, my boyfriend texted to ask me if they had any suits or leather jackets that could end up being a good deal with my coupon. I looked at the only leather jacket they had that was $400, but the girl said that leather jackets were 30% off. At this point, I called my boyfriend and told him of the 30% off, my 50% coupon and the Banana card I was planning to open. He said to figure out how much it would be and to call him back... so me and the girl were figuring it out and it would come out to about $112! I called him back to tell him and he said to get it! I ended up spending about $250, but that included some stuff that my friend got, some stuff that I got, the suit, and the leather jacket! I saved about $500! It was absolutely insane.
The moral of this story is... use those 50% off coupons for things you really want to invest in (like a nice suit). Haha :)
Also, I'm going to get the money for the leather jacket back from my boyfriend and for the stuff my friend got so I definitely only spent a little over $100 for the suit and sweaters! I'm also happy that the shoes I got at Marshalls go perfectly with my suit.
I can't wait to go to interviews or something so that I can wear it! I wish I had a camera to take pictures of all of this. Hopefully next time.

Happy Monday!

First Post

Hi!
After following many people's blogs for the past few months, I've finally decided to create one of my own! I'm not sure how often I will post, but I wanted to start one so that I can follow more people with great style.
We'll see how often I actually keep up with this!!
